Pretty much everybody stood, most people took their hats off, some even put it over their hearts - then some, like myself, looked around confused wondering if we had missed the announcement that we had a new US national anthem. I love the patriotic greats, but only one commands my hat over my heart. I think putting your hand over your heart for any patriotic song is like bowing your head and closing your eyes for an entire Bible study.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7912085014902140242.post-68350367989927441832008-07-16T18:09:00.000-04:002008-07-16T18:09:00.000-04:00Now we are on the same page. It is either blasphemy or a total disregard for His majesty... All I am saying is that God is not listening to the prayers of unbelievers. There is total irony in a society that rejects Christ, yet calls out to God (whoever that is to them) to bless their nation. These 2 things do not go hand in hand.Rob and Beckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05657923885781291485noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7912085014902140242.post-43052167590411999862008-07-16T11:28:00.000-04:002008-07-16T11:28:00.000-04:00Maybe GOD HIMSELF had something to do with it, you...Maybe GOD HIMSELF had something to do with it, you think?TRUTH SHARERhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17069583768409534620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7912085014902140242.post-72049773135513473322008-07-16T08:24:00.000-04:002008-07-16T08:24:00.000-04:00Well, remember, I am a decorated soloist! I am questioning why MLB chose the song "God Bless America" and wondering what the 55,000 or so in attendance were thinking while it was being sung. I think they actually sing it at every game. But why? Is it patriotic? The song is a prayer to God! Isn't that sort of disconnect? What do you think God was thinking when that song was being sung last night?Rob and Beckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05657923885781291485noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7912085014902140242.post-66210883652820472422008-07-16T01:52:00.000-04:002008-07-16T01:52:00.000-04:00Because he sings much better than you.
