Stepping out in Faith…

When the Israelite people hit the Red Sea, they cried out in fear.  They didn't know where their next step would be.  They were confused.  They were faithless.  They took their eyes off the Lord.  They looked back at their past and wanted to wallow in their past situation. They said "Let's go back..."  But, in that very moment, God spoke...

"The Lord said to Moses, "Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward.  Lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground." (Exodus 14:15, 16 ESV)

I refuse to look back, or even accept the present.  God wants us to move forward to take the blessing he has for us in our future.  The people had to step out in faith and obedience, and God acted.

"Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act." (Psalm 37:3-5 ESV)
